View Full Version : Demand for CFIGs and TOW pilots

I need tow pilots...so do the other nearby glider operators. A full
time CFI is needed. Business is growing and we need help. We operate
year round and PAY our pilots.
IF you can do so...encourage your friends who might want to work in
the soaring business to get some training. Some soaring sites and
clubs may help by cutting a financial deal to help increase the number
of instructors and tow pilots all around the world. Fred

Please accept my apology. I was hoping to encourage people to work in
the glider business. The business has been tough and SSA membership
has declined, but I see strong signs that it is beginning to recover.
Glider operators and clubs need help.

Our club near San Francisco has also seen some growth recently. Enough
new members have joined that efficient operations, with a brisk 10 AM
(rather than noon-ish) start to the day is important. Not sure yet
whether this is a coincidence or a trend.

Not a problem. I later saw that I could have found you by looking at
your profile but so few people put any info there. I soloed at
Crystal and earned my FAA pvt glider there Dec 1979 when I was working
for Douglas Aircraft (RIP) in Long Beach. Maybe it's time for a
return visit.

We have had waiting lists for club membership for the last year.
We are a weekend only club.
We try not to take on too many new students at one time to overwhelm the
limited resources of instructors and training gliders. Just as we pick up
3-4 students off the waiting list, we put 3-4 more people on the list.
